Every year we celebrate World Bee Day on May 20 to remind us that while we hate bee stings, we’re frightened to live in a world without them. The US Department of Agriculture confirmed that honeybees are responsible for 1 out of 3 bites of food. The survey further showed that 75% of world food crops depend on pollinators.
Despite these stark realities, the rate at which we’re losing bees is alarming. Research now puts the figures at 30% of beehives that are lost each year. In the US alone, the latest scientific study showed that there is a 43% colony loss. This is a worrying trend for humans and animals.
However, robotic bees have now become the new hope for food security and a healthier environment. If scientists cannot realize these objectives within the required time and space, then NASA will send a swarm of robot bees to tell us if we can relocate to the planet Mars.
So, what are Robot Bees?
Robot bees, also known as robotic bees or drone bees, are artificial bee-like devices created to replicate the functions of real bees. These devices are designed to perform tasks related to pollination or monitoring of environmental conditions.
